• Attendance area revised for Humble High School

Humble ISD has revised attendance zones for the 2016-2017 school year. Starting with next year’s freshmen class, students living in the Humble Middle School attendance zone will be zoned to Humble High School. Previously, some students in the Humble Middle School attendance zone attended Summer Creek High School while some attended Humble High School.

The revision was approved March 8, 2016, by the Board of Trustees based on a recommendation from the Superintendent and a Student Attendance Area Committee comprised of parents, community members and staff. The new attendance area establishes a pure feeder pattern from Humble Middle School to Humble High School. This enhances communication between the high school and middle school so that teachers can best prepare students. The proposal also allows students to stay with the friends they made in middle school and prevents overcrowding.

The revision only affects high school attendance areas. Elementary and middle school attendance areas remain unchanged.

Current 9th through 11th graders who are already attending Summer Creek High School will stay at Summer Creek High School through graduation. For Humble Middle School students with siblings currently attending Summer Creek High School, parents may submit a request  through the General Transfer Process. Information on the General Transfer Process is available at www.humbleisd.net/studenttransfers and applications from 8th graders with siblings currently at Summer Creek High School are due Friday, April 1.

For eighth graders at Humble Middle School, counselors at Humble High School have already received your high school course selections. Humble High School also looks forward to hosting a Wildcat Open House for all incoming freshmen at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. A notice  will be sent out in April inviting Humble Middle School 8th grade families to the Wildcat Open House.
