2018-19 Cougars for Life Annual Fund Campaign
Dear Kingwood Middle School Families,
This past school year for KMS was unique and unlike any other. Our Kingwood community was devastated by Hurricane Harvey and over 60 families and 4 staff members here on our own campus were directly impacted, losing their homes.
We experienced an incredible outpouring of support from our own community, but also from communities around our nation, sending us supplies and contributions. Our Cougars for Life Annual Fund rose to our highest level of giving to date, allowing us to not only provide support to our students who were impacted by the hurricane, but to also assist KMS with the purchase of over 140 student Chromebooks for classroom use. We were completely humbled and inspired by the amazing support that we received, even without our normal advertisement of the Annual Fund benefits.
I want to thank you for your continued support of KMS. Last year, we were again tops in the state and district in student academic accomplishments, and they continue to astonish the KMS faculty and staff. Plus, our fine arts continues to impress with regional, state, and UIL competition wins. Our athletic teams also were very impressive with many district championships and we offer more clubs/activities than any other Middle School in our district. This school is amazing and we appreciate the generosity of our donors to help us make this school community the best it can be.
Our hope for the Annual Fund this year is that KMS families are able to give a meaningful gift to our students. We are fully accountable to you, our parents and supporters of the Annual Fund, regarding how we use your investment, and we will continue to focus on the areas of greatest need defined by you.
Thank you in advance for your support of the KMS Annual Fund and of our common goal of excellence for our students. I am looking forward to another successful school year for Kingwood Middle School.
