Dear Humble ISD Community,
There are so many ways that our community supports Humble ISD’s teachers and students. Community supporters give generously of their time, talent and resources with a clear vision to make an impact on students. The success of PTAs and PTOs, booster clubs, and campus based annual funds demonstrate
– time and time again – that we live in a child-centered community full of incredible people willing to give so much of themselves for our students.Since 2012, some Humble ISD schools have moved away from traditional third-party fundraising efforts to an annual fund campaign model. In this model, parents are asked for direct support in the form of a tax-deductible gift in lieu of asking students, and their parents, to sell third-party items.
The annual fund model has tremendously grown in our district. What once started with three schools taking a leap from third-party based fundraising to an annual fund model has now grown to the multiple campuses that you can read about on the following pages. In utilizing an annual fund model, schools fundraise with philanthropy at the center of parent, grandparent, and community giving.
I encourage you to learn more about how parents are changing fundraising in Humble ISD and consider supporting your child’s school’s annual fund. If your child’s school does not currently have an annual fund, please consider reaching out to the Principal or to Jerri Monbaron, Executive Director of the Education Foundation, to discuss how this successful fundraising model can get started at your school.
Thank you for the many ways in which you partner with Humble ISD, as together we help students become well-rounded, productive citizens of the future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Elizabeth Fagen
Superintendent of Schools
