English Language Arts
Hello, my name is Gregg Kite. I am excited to be teaching English at Riverwood Middle School this year. I am a graduate of Texas A&M (Gig 'Em!), with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Reading and Writing are passions of mine, and I work very hard to impart those passions on to your children. It is very important to me that they are able to express themselves in writing, as well as understand and appreciate the art of storytelling.
Students are required to read every day of their lives. The things that they read and the comprehension with which they read them play a large part in each student’s successes or failures. Today’s student is inundated with information at an increasingly rapid pace through the mediums of computers, smart phones, and television. In this era where video is so readily accessible, English teachers have an increasingly difficult task in fostering the skills necessary for an individual to be able to communicate effectively and comprehend efficiently through the words they use and absorb. To meet the individual needs of each and every student, the English teacher must ensure that students are engaged by providing interesting, insightful lessons that enhance their ability to not only take in information, but to appreciate the stories that can be told by the words on a page.
I hope to provide a unique and entertaining perspective on the English Language and all it's expressive forms this year. If you have any questions, or would like to schedule a meeting, please feel free to call or e-mail (the latter is probably the easiest way of getting in touch with me).1st Period - Conference2nd Period - RELA OL3rd Period - RELA OL4th Period - RELA OL5th Period - RELA Pre-AP6th Period - RELA Pre-AP7th Period - RELA Pre-AP
