I'd like to personally welcome everyone to the 2019-2020 school year! This is my sixth year teaching math at Ross Sterling Middle School and my sixth year as a teacher. I was born and raised in Iowa where I had my first teaching position. I attended college at the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with two degrees, both in education. I have one daughter, Eliza, who will be a freshman at KPark High School.
I'm excited for the school year to start and ready to meet all of my new students. Teaching is an adventure every year. It's full of highs and lows, but it's worth every second of my time. I am passionate about teaching students to not only do better in math, but to be life-long learners and well-rounded citizens of our future generation.
Our classroom is a revolving learning environment. There is always something to be learned. It is important for students to be present every day so they receive the necessary instruction, get the assignments, and have the ability to ask questions they may have.
General Classroom Expectations:
- Be on time
- Be prepared
- Be respectful
- Be ready to learn
Every student needs to have their binder, math spiral, extra paper, and pencils every day. Math spirals will be kept in the classroom.
