Extended Learning Teacher
My name is Julie Jennings. I am proud to be a Lakeshore Leopard! This is my sixth year teaching at Lakeshore elementary. This is my 21st year teaching and I am just as excited as I was my first year! I grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have a specialization in teaching reading and hold my ESL and GT certifications.
I began my teaching career in Plano ISD, where I worked for six years before moving to my neighborhood school in Wylie ISD. I taught Kindergarten and ESL K-2 for nine years before our family made a move to the Houston area in the summer of 2014.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Bryan for 18 years. We have three amazing kids. My son John just started his sophmore year at Infinity Early College High School and my daughter Alyssa is starting middle school at Creek wood, and last but not least, our third child Luke is 6 and attend Lakeshore in first grade. We have 2 golden retrieves named Lily and Piper. We are huge soccer fans! I enjoy watching my kids in various activities. My other hobbies include reading, craft projects, and family road trips.
I am excited about this school year and about getting to know each of you as well. I promise to not only stretch your child as far as they are academically ready to go, but to love, and nurture them while they are in my care.
