I am part of the ALTs and Support Team fulfilling the role of Reading Interventionist here at Park Lakes Elementary. I have been teaching for twelve years. I have been part of the Humble Family and Park Lakes Elementary for nine years. I was previously a Kindergarten, Second, and Third grade teacher prior to coming out of the classroom and working as a Reading Interventionist. I will be receiving my Masters Degree from Grand Canyon Univesity in October of this year as a Reading Specialist. I look forward to applying all that I have learned with the students that I work with to help them excel in Reading.
I enjoy being a part of this learning community. I absolutlely love working with children! I constantly strive to foster an environment where students may feel socially and emotionally safe. Student achievement is my goal. I hope to instill a passion for reading and a love for learning. I seek to build confidence in all students that I work with. I work hard to equip them with the skills necessary to succeed in life and become global citizens ready to make a mark in the world that will make a positive impact. I teach each child as an individual, meeting them right where they are academically. I always encourage them to never give up and find their strengths. Each child is unique and equipped with gifts and talents. A child's self esteem and security is critical to the development of an enthusiasm for learning. Every child should have a chance to achieve their dreams. I strive to build grit or strength of character within the students I work with. If they can accept that achievement requires hard work, and they find purpose in their work, they can reach for the stars no matter how difficult the task. I look forward to working with the students at Park Lakes Elementary this 2019-2020 school year!
