Students spend the year learning the fundamentals of becoming a journalist and photojournalist. They get to take photos at events and write stories that can be published in the newspaper, yearbook and at
KPTimes.com. They will also learn a little history, law and ethics involving journalism. They will have the opportunity to participate in state and national writing, photography and editing competitions. They will also dive into design and learn the skills they need to be successful on either the newspaper or yearbook staff in the following year.
Advanced Journalism - Yearbook Production I, II, III Grades 10-12
1 Credit
Students will take part in producing the yearbook by writing stories, designing pages and shooting photos throughout the school year.
Advanced Journalism - Newspaper I, II, III Grades 10-12
Students will take part in producing the monthly newsmagazine and continually keep
KPTimes.com updated with new and fresh stories and photos that relate to the students and staff and Kingwood Park.
Student Work
The
student-run newspaper is printed and passed out free of charge to all students six times each year.
KPTimes.com is updated daily by students with news, photos and interactive quizzes. The students' work can also be found on their KP Media social media channels on
