They get to take photos at events and write stories that can be published in the newspaper, yearbook and at KPTimes.com. They will also learn a little history, law and ethics involving journalism. They will have the opportunity to participate in state and national writing, photography and editing competitions. Megan Ortiz, adviser
Megan Ortiz is in her 11th year advising student media and her fifth year at Kingwood Park. She was a JEA Rising Star award winner in 2014. Prior to teaching, she spent 10 years at the Houston Chronicle covering the NFL and NBA. She majored in Journalism & Mass Communications at the University of Iowa.
