Go to https://www.humbleisd.net/Page/87875.BandDuring the fall semester, all band students are members of the marching band which rehearses daily after school and performs at all Varsity football games, selected competitions and local school and community events. During the spring semester, all band students perform in a concert ensemble and performs at multiple concerts, festivals, and competitions. Other groups in the KPHS Band include Jazz Ensemble, Indoor Drumline and Color Guard. Some of the large instruments are provided by the school.Band I (5751) Grades 9-12Prerequisite - none1 CreditBand II (5752) Grades 10-12Prerequisite - Band IBand III (5753) Grades 11-12Prerequisite- Band IIBand IV (5754) Grade 12Prerequisite - Band IIIApplied Music I - Band (5759) Grades 11-12Prerequisite - Concurrent enrollment in bandThis is a high level competition/performance based course that is available to all students concurrently enrolled in Band who wish to pursue an advanced level of independent study in music performance.Class Percussion IClass Percussion IIBoth Percussion classes focus on all aspects of playing, writing music for, and even teaching the Percussion Family of instruments in both the marching and concert genres.Color GuardThe Color Guard class provides the opportunity for students to learn, perform and compete in a color guard setting. Focus of education will include proper techniques in manipulation of different color guard implements and various styles of dance. The class is geared towards KPHS Marching Band Performances and the Indoor Color Guard's competitive season.
