All About Me
I have taught 24 years. This is my 22nd year at Greentree. I'm a teacher, mom, and someone who loves to watch kids explore and learn. I graduated from Texas A&M and continued in their Professional Developmental Program. I worked with the same school as a behavior aide and then taught second grade for two years. I moved to Kingwood in 1998. I have found a home here at Greentree.
Educational Philosophy: Every child is gifted; they just unwrap their packages at different times. My hope is to be patient, caring, and find a fun way to help children learn and parents support their child during the year. I enjoy sharing ideas with parents to help their child excel. Everyday is a new day of discovery and taking steps to develop problem solving and comprehension.
Watch for helpful notes, home readers, and folders coming home.
Blue Folder comes home on Monday-Thursday/return each day
Red Folder on Monday/return it Tuesday
Homereaders will come home on various days.
Gator Reading Program
I would like everyone in my class to participate in the Gator Reading Program! I challenge your family to track all your reading minutes. Let's be the class that has 100% participation. Mrs. Rydell would be so proud.
Please track the minutes that your child reads/and you read to your child for those emerging readers.
A calendar is available through the library link/and useful links from my website. There will be on in their blue folder for each month.
We will visit the library as a whole class on Thursday. It will be part of our specials.
