My name is Valerie Hirsch. I am a proud West Texas A&M Buffalo and Sam Houston Bearkat, ag teacher and FFA advisor! I am beginning my 10th year of teaching, with all years as a Kingwood Mustang.
Being an ag teacher and FFA advisor means I have one of the best jobs on campus! I am responsible for teaching floral design. My FFA responsibilities include coaching multiple leadership development and career development teams (with my pride and joy teams being radio broadcasting and wool), as well as developing public speakers, assisting with the Humble Livestock Show, and whatever else the year brings me!
Due to the nature of my position, I am unavailable to be reached via phone during school hours. If you have questions or concerns feel free to reach me directly by email. I try my best to respond to all correspondence within 24 hrs.
Additional course information and class resources are located in Schoology.

The benefit of Agriculture classes are the hands on experience that the students have.
Floral design also counts as an art credit for students. It is a two semester course where students will gain basic knowledge of floral design. At the end of the year, students will plan and budget a special event.
