    • Daily grades/Quizzes (Formative) = 40%,
    • Tests/ Projects (Summative) = 60%

    Pre-AP Geometry  Grade Breakdown:

    • Daily grades/Quizzes (Formative) = 30%,
    • Tests/ Projects (Summative) = 70%

     Assignments ONTIME vs. LATE:

My students will have assignments daily.  It is very important for students to practice topics on a daily basis and turn in all of their work. Some class time will be given, but most students will have to complete their assignments outside of class.

ONTIME: All Assignments must be turned completed and accurate with in 48 hours of being assigned in order to be considered for full credit 100%.  Assignments turned after the first 48 hours of being assigned will be consider late.  Any work that is turned in after taking the test a max grade of a 50%.  We will have frequent homework quiz for formative grades.

    LATE:

Completed and accureate, but turned in more that 48 hours after it was assigned.

Completed and NOT accurate (returned) to fix will be considered late.

    Incomplete work.

TURNED IN AFTER TAKING THE TEST : Max of 50%

    MAKE-UP WORK:
If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to get the work that he/she missed, and be prepared by test day.  If you miss school on the review day before a test, you are still expected to take the test when you return to school.  If you miss a test, you will be expected to take the test on the day you return or the next available tutoring day.

    Reassessment:
Students are allowed to re-test one summative grade per nine weeks, and the two grades will be averaged together.  Students are required to make corrections on the original assessment in tutorials first, as well as complete any missing work, before a re-test will be allowed.  Re-tests for the last test of each nine weeks will not be offered, due to time constraints.

    Classroom Policies:
In addition to school wide policies (dress code, cell phones, no food or drink in the classroom other than water, zero tolerance for bullying, etc.), I have five rules that I expect students to follow while in my classroom.

    1)     Be Respectful!  Treat your classmates, your teacher and the classroom environment and supplies with respect. Do not talk while the teacher is instructing. Do use any electronic devices while in the classroom.

    2)     Be Responsible!  Bring all materials to class (pencil, paper, notes and assignments), and sit in your assigned seat. WEAR YOUR ID and BE IN DRESS CODE

    3)     Be Honest!  Do your own work; do not share information about tests with anyone.

    4)     Be Safe! Be in your seat when the bell rings, and stay in your seat until the bell rings to release you, be kind to others so everyone feels comfortable.

    5)     Be Amazing!  Do your best; never get a zero on anything ever.  Love yourself and your awesome teacher!  WE WILL BE A GREAT TEAM:)

    Supply List:

Required: Paper, pencil,  4 Math folders (1 per 9 weeks)

Please DOTATE: AAA Batteries, Kleenex, Pencils

TI-84 calculator is recommended but one will be provided for you for you to use in class only, class calculators cannot leave the room.

Check out a Calculator:  Though donations from parents into the HUMBLE ISD education foundation, I have a few TI- 84 calculators to check out to my students overnight.   They must be checked out from me at my desk and returned the next day that the class period meets. If a checked out calculator is lost, stolen, or damaged, you will be responsible for replacing it.

    Textbook:
Students can check out ALGEBRA II or  Geometry textbook; it should be kept at home for a reference.

    Tutoring Times:

My tutoring times are Monday and Friday after school. There will be an ALGEBRA II and Geometry teacher available for tutorials the following mornings and afternoons.
