My child tested positive for COVID. What happens next?

  • Steps for ahs parents reporting student covid results

    Reporting Absence to Attendance:

    Leave Voicemail: 281-641-7503

TEA requires that students with COVID remain away from school until re-entry criteria has been met. TEA states the following conditions for re-entry:

      • If the child tested positive for COVID and experienced symptoms: “at least 5 days have passed since symptom onset, and fever free, and other symptoms have improved.”

      • If the child tested positive for COVID-19 but did not experience symptoms: the child “must stay home until at least 5 days after the day they were tested.”

    Reporting Form:

Please complete the COVID-19 Student Self-Reporting Form if your child has received a confirmed positive test for COVID-19.

The form can be found on district website or with a google search “Humble ISD Student Self-Reporting Form.”

This will provide needed documentation should they have more absences later that would lead to the student needing to make up “seat time.”

If students are feeling well enough to keep up with assignments they can simply email their teachers to get their homework.

If they are not feeling well then, they are not required to do this. They would simply make up assignments later just like with any other illness.
