    Foods for today is designed for 7th and 8th graders to learn the basics of food preparation and nutrition in one semester. Topics covered are cooking terms, kitchen equipment, reading a recipe, measuring, kitchen safety, table setting, and etiquette. Without a doubt, the favorite parts of this class are cooking and eating the food.......yummy! A required lab fee of $20 is set by the district.
    Principles of Hospitality and Tourism consists of two semesters and is designed for 8th graders to explore the industry as a career option while earning one credit for high school.  The enormous growth potential and opportunities in this field are continually growing and currently employ 50% of today's work force.  Areas of study include travel, lodging, recreation, tourism, and food and beverage.  A variety of teaching methods are used which consists of guest speakers from the industry, internet assignments, potential field trips, textbook, and hands on activities. A required lab fee of $5 is set by the district.
