    Me

    Welcome!

I am very excited about teaching 5th grade Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Social Studies this year. This will be my 18th year in Education (LaPorte ISD and Humble ISD) and my 13th year at Timbers.   I was born and raised in LaPorte, Texas. I graduated from LaPorte High School and attended University of Houston/Clear Lake, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in English & Social Studies. I have been married to my husband Michael since 1995. We have two beautiful daughters and two dogs.  My oldest daughter, Alexandra (23), is a graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree with a focus on Kinesiology. My youngest daughter, Kristin (20), is starting her junior year at Stephen F. Austin University. She is currently working towards a Bachelor's of Science degree with a focus on a Hospitality along with a minor in Music.  I am a huge Disney/Donald Duck fan!!!! I love to travel with my family in our camper to State parks and other cool places.
I look forward to teaching your child this year and expanding their literature horizon!

    Rainy day dismissal

Below are a few updates/changes to make for a smoother dismissal on rainy days.  Our decisions about dismissal are first made based on safety and secondly efficiently. Most of these students are walkers, bikers, or car riders.  There will never be a "quick" method of rainy day dismissal, but with staff and parent cooperation we hope to make it safe and orderly.

    Bikers:

All bikers will wait in the back under the pavilion for pickup.  If the weather clears after all cars have exited, students will be dismissed to ride their bikes home from school.

    Front Walkers:

K, 1st, and 2nd grade front walkers, will be released from the front walker dismissal area.  Parents please form the line from the emergency gate along the sidewalk and towards Lonesome Woods.

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade front walkers, will be released at the front door.  There will be a coned off area to form a line to pick up walkers.  Please stay in line so that front car riders can be dismissed from this area, as well.

Parents may still use the front car rider line to pick up front walkers on rainy day dismissal.

    Back Walkers:

All Back Walkers will wait in the back under the pavilion for pickup.  If the weather clears after all cars have exited, students will be dismissed to walk home towards the back from school.

There have been no change to back car rider rainy day dismissal.
