*When attendance zones were established for Centennial’s opening, the district communicated that Balmoral planning units 15P and 15Q will be zoned to it in future years because the county was building a bridge over a railroad track that would allow for Timber Forest Drive to connect Balmoral to Lakewood Pines. The bridge opens in August 2022.

The district considered all feedback received:

    • The updated Elementary Attendance Zones take effect January 1, 2022, for all students who are newly enrolling.
    • The attendance zone change takes effect with the 2022-2023 school year for currently-enrolled students.
    • As has been the district’s practice in recent years, Humble ISD will allow students currently enrolled in an elementary school to remain at their current school through the completion of fifth grade under a transfer.
    • Transportation to and from school for all transfer students in Humble ISD is the parent’s responsibility. The district will not split families: if a younger sibling enters school while a currently enrolled student is on a transfer to that school, the sibling’s transfer request will be granted so that all siblings can be at the same school together.
    • The district will send an email to parents of students in neighborhoods where attendance zones will be changing in the 2022-2023 school year in early February. The email will contain an online form for parents to indicate if their child will be attending the school zoned to their neighborhood or their current school next year. There is no action that parents need to take until they receive the email in February. The email will be sent only to those who reside in updated areas: 18B; 18C; 15V; 15W; 15P; 15Q; 15E; and 15U.
