About Ms. Christoferson:   

I am from Colorado and just moved to Texas last summer. In Colorado I taught 5th and 6th grade RELA for 9 years, so although there are many new things associated with moving to Texas, teaching is not one of them... 

My Teaching Philosophy:

I believe in challenging and empowering students to find and use their voice in a respectful and meaningful way. I work hard to give my students opportunities to take ownership over, and invest in, their learning. What we learn in the classroom should be able to apply to our everyday lives.

More About Ms. Christoferson:

In addition to teaching, I also spent 5 years living in Nicaragua and am fluent in Spanish. Some of my favorite hobbies include reading, painting, playing tennis, and spending time with my dogs (who I consider my children.)
