Grading Policy: All formative assignments (daily work) will count for 40% of the overall grade. Summative assignments (exams and major projects) will count for 60% of the overall grade. Quizzes will count as double formative grades.
Reassessment for Summative Assignments: Students are allowed to be reassessed for ONE summative grade per 9 week grading period. Prior to reassessment, students must attend at least one tutorial period, students must make corrections to the failed test and discuss them with the teacher during that tutorial time, students must complete any missing work related to the Unit that they are being reassessed for (late work policy will apply). Only after all steps are completed may a student take a reassessment. The scores for both reassessments will be averaged for a new score. For example, if the student scores a 50 on the initial assessment and a 90 on the reassessment, the grade that will be entered will be a 70.
Late Work Policy: All assignments will have a due date and for every day after the due date the max score possible reduces by 20 points. If a student turns in an assignment 5 or more days late, without previously communicating with the teacher to set up a plan for the student to complete the assignment, the assignment will be a 0 and the student will need to attend tutorials to recover that grade.

"I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit."
"Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty."
"You are who you surround yourself with."
