    Facilitator Bio

    Robert Ranstadler is a second-year teacher who is passionate about education and helping his students achieve professional and personal success. This is his first year at Sconzo ECHS. Last year, Mr. "R" taught advanced World History and World Geography courses at Hargrave High School (Huffman ISD), where he received the 2020-21 HHS Newcomer of the Year Award.

    Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Ranstadler graduated from DeLand High School (Florida), in 1995. He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, spending the next 20 years serving our nation both at home and abroad. Some of his career highlights include multiple combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as a four-year assignment supporting the White House under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

    Following his retirement from the Marines, Mr. Ranstadler turned his attention to freelance writing and starting a new career in education. He holds a BS in History, a MA in Military History, and a MEd in Education (Curriculum & Instruction). Mr. R has written numerous online history articles and is published in several trade periodicals.

    Mr. Ranstadler and his family currently live in Houston, TX. He is father to two boys, 11 and 4, who both attend Humble ISD schools. His wife, Dr. Emily Ranstadler, is a Health Sciences Teacher in Aldine ISD. In his spare time, Mr. R enjoys coaching youth athletics and volunteering with local non-profit organizations, including Carry the Load and the Battleship TEXAS Foundation.
