Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces, and new faces! We can't wait to get this year started and get your child up and moving! Please look for a parent letter that will go home the first week of school. There is important information in there. Also, please pay attention to your child's PE days, so you know when to dress them in comfortable clothes, and ATHLETIC (tennis) SHOES.

SAFETY FOR ALL!
To ensure the safety of our students and staff, please check in at the new security vestibule in the front foyer by presenting your driver’s license each time you visit our school and by wearing your visitor’s badge for identification on your shirt. Prior to leaving, return your badge to the front foyer for check out. We appreciate your patience as we make updates to our security plan, and provide access on special event days. The safety of our students is a top priority! Our PE Behavioral Expectations:*Be Responsible*Be Respectful*Be Safe*Always Be A LearnerWhat our class will look like:Your child will come to PE 2 times during the week. The rotation schedule, and rotation calendar, and parent information letter are attached under helpful documents. Please view these if you need to know when your child has PE. It is very important that they have on the correct shoes (athletic type that either velcro or tie) and comfortable clothing for PE. Each PE class will be 55 minutes in length. We will exercise, jog and then play our game/activity for the day.Students will meet outside under the pavilion at the beginning of class to receive instructions for the day. We will then begin our stretches, jog and do our activity for the day.PFE Marathon Challenge:Students will be required to run/walk laps around the track at the beginning of PE class, as well as during jogging units and fun runs. Our goal is to complete 26.2 miles (a marathon) before the end of the year. Panther paws will be given out for every 5 miles a student completes and a t-shirt will be given out to each student that reaches 26.2 miles (a marathon) at the end of the year. Panther Paws may be put on a chain, ribbon, shoelace, etc... We want the students to be able to show off their success!Cardiovascular fitness is a very important part of daily exercise that students need to learn at an early age.A few important items:*Please remember to wear appropriate clothes and shoes on the days you have PE. Athletic type shoes with laces or velcro straps, please are required for PE days.*Please send in a note if you do not want your child to participate in PE for the day. A parent note is good for 1 day only. Please send in another note if you need your child to sit out again. Doctor's notes are good for the amount of time stated on the note.*Water bottles ARE allowed this year. Please make sure the students name is on their water bottle to avoid any sharing of germs! Students will NOT be allowed in to the building for water, they must bring their water bottles with them to PE.*If students need to sit out due to illness, or have the incorrect clothes on, they will go to Music. They will need to check in with me first.*Please remember to send your child with a note if he/she can not participate in PE.*It is very important to please make sure your child has their tennis shoes on for their PE days. 2 PE days in a 9 week period without the correct shoes will affect the students grade.
