    • Students are expected to participate by putting forth your best creative effort DAILY. 
    • Students are expected to RESPECT others, the teacher, supplies, work area, and artwork.
    • No food or drinks other than clear water allowed in the classroom.
    • Keep your area CLEAN.
    • Be on time. Students are not allowed to leave the classroom in the first or last 10 minutes of class.

    Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!

    I am Noelle Drop and I am excited to be teaching Art I here at Atascocita High School. I look forward to meeting you all during our virtual class beginning on the 11th and 12th. It will be an introduction to the class and hopefully I will be able to answer any questions you may have. This year will be different but I am looking forward to getting back to a new normal and meeting each of you. 

    Course Expectations:
     Art I is a two semester course and is designed to provide students the basic concepts of art including drawing, color theory, painting, ceramics, and printmaking. Students will be tested over terminology and basic skills and will be responsible for creating artwork in each area studied. The course will also include a basic introduction to Art History. A final exam will be given at the end of each semester. Students will construct and maintain a sketchbook. Sketchbook drawings are assigned weekly and are 40% of the student’s grade.

    Grading Policy:
    Art I General classes are weighted 60% Summative (major works of art) and 40% Formative (work related to the sketchbook). Sketchbook assignments are 40% of the students grade. 

    Grading Scale and Late Work Policy:

    Summative Projects/Major Papers and Essays/Major Labs/Formative Assessments:

    On time: full credit
    1 day late: max of 80
    2 days late: max of 60
    3 days late: max of 40
    4 days late: max of 20
    5 days late: 0

    Grading Scale: 

    90 – 100   A 
    80 – 89  B 
    70 – 79 C 
    0 – 69    Failing 

    Art Fees: The art fee per year is $50.00 is required by Humble ISD as stated in the course description. The art fee can be paid through the school's online store and follow the links to the correct AHS class fee  Please be sure to enter both the student name and ID number. This fee covers all the art supplies that will be used throughout the school year such as paper, pencils, paint, paint brushes, clay, glazes, etc.  This fee is the same for any high school Art I student within Humble ISD. The fee is due within the first two weeks of school. Fee can now be paid online. Personal checks are no longer accepted at AHS, please bring cash if not paying online. A receipt will be issued to the student upon payment being made. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the Art Fee.

  • About Me: This is my 8th year of teaching secondary Art.  I graduated from Nicholls State University with a Arts degree in graphic design and University of North Texas with a degree in art education. I have a background in graphic design, drawing, and painting. I live in Atascocita with my husband and our children who are also Humble ISD students.
