Greetings Humble Wildcat Parents & Guardians,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ms. Hughes and I will be working closely with your children in Biology & English I as their Co-Teacher. I will be supporting with your children with rigor through an emerging learning platform of your choice both virtual or face-to-face learning styles.
For parents that do not yet know me, this is my second year at Humble High School. I am equipped with 5 years of Special Education teaching experience from Aldine ISD and 2 years with Humble High School. I earned my Bachelors of Arts Degree with a concentration in Mass Communications from Southern University A&M College and a Master's degree in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I am the mother of an amazing daughter who is in middle school!
My favorites are as followed: I love the New Orleans Saints NFL Team, The Southern University Jaguars, colors….pink, purple or red and anything which represents my hometown of New Orleans, La...."Who Dat"! I am a proud Adult Girl Scout volunteer, a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor's Society for Professional Educators and my favorite scripture is: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
I am excited to be working with your children, as this will be an awesome experience! I am confident that my educational background, experience, and passion for teaching, but most importantly dedication for supporting all students’ academic and Social, Emotional Learning (SEL) success will provide your child a positive atmosphere for learning and developmental growth.
Here in Wildcat Country, we share a sense of Wildcat P.R.I.D.E...Preparedness, Respect, Integrity, Discipline & Effort.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email or the school front office at: 281-641-6300. My conference/planning period is during 3rd period and tutorials are held campus-wide every Wednesday from 3:00pm-4:30pm. Again, please don’t hesitate to contact me for any reason during my conference time!
