Greetings Humble Wildcat Parents & Guardians,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ms. Hughes and I will be working closely with your child in English 2 as the Co-Teacher. I will be supporting with your child with rigor through an emerging learning platform of your choice both virtual or face-to-face learning styles.
For parents that do not yet know me, this is my first year at Humble High School. I am equipped with 5 years of Special Education teaching experience from Aldine ISD. I earned my Bachelors of Arts Degree with a concentration in Mass Communications from Southern University A&M College. While teaching, I am currently a Graduate Student at Sam Houston State University pursuing my Masters in School Counseling degree with an LPC and the mother of an amazing daughter.
My favorites are as followed: I love the New Orleans Saints NFL Team, The Southern University Jaguars, colors….pink, purple or red and anything which represents my hometown of New Orleans, La...."Who Dat"! I am a proud Adult Girl Scout volunteer, a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor's Society for Professional Educators and my favorite scripture is: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
I am excited to be working with your child, as this will be an awesome experience! I am confident that my educational background, experience, and passion for teaching, but most importantly dedication for supporting all students’ academic and Social, Emotional Learning (SEL) success will provide your child a positive atmosphere for learning and developmental growth.
Here in Wildcat Country, we share a sense of Wildcat P.R.I.D.E...Preparedness, Respect, Integrity, Discipline & Effort.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email or the school front office at: 281-641-6300. My conference/planning period is during 6th period from 1:05pm-1:45pm and I will provide you feedback as soon as possible. Again, please don’t hesitate to contact me for any reason during my conference time!
