Welcome to full-time Visual Arts at Willow Creek Elementary!  I am so happy to be here to guide our students through a year full of creative adventures.

This year begins my 29th year of teaching Art.  I have taught Art in every grade Pre-K 3 to 12th grade, except 9th grade (I missed that grade somehow!).  Students can expect to work in drawing, collage, tempera painting, watercolor, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media projects this year.  The lessons include learning about materials and artistic processes with lots of room for imaginative thinking.  Sometimes our artwork will have connections to other subjects like math, literature, science, music and social studies.

It's going to be a great year!

Greetings from the ART ROOM!!!  Well, this time it's the art room at my house.

Willow Creek is sending out and email to you and your families that has a great menu of ideas to keep everyone learning.  Along with the other specials classes there is a section for Art where I have put some simple, but fun ideas for you try.  You can use any materials that you might have at home, but for most you can just use a pencil and any type of paper will work.  If you can come up with other creative ideas to try, of course you can do that too.   When you finish a project, I would love to see it, so take a picture of your artwork email it to me and I will make a gallery of Cardinal Art.  It will be like the hallways at school, but digital.  I will do it also and share mine too.  This is going to be fun!

I hope that all of you are doing well - I miss you!

    Love,

    Mrs. V.
