I am so excited to start teaching the wonderful world of choral music at Humble Middle School! Choir has always been a huge part of my life, and I have my middle school choir director to thank for that. I have always loved the unity of singing together and performing in concerts and contests.
I grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, where I was selected to sing in the TMEA All-State Choir twice and was a member of the St. Paul’s Choral Scholars. I graduated college from Louisiana State University, where I sang in the touring A Cappella choir and was a trumpet player in the Golden Band from Tiger Land. I traveled a lot in both ensembles including singing in Budapest, Vienna, and Prague, and I got to march in the St. Patrick’s day parade in Dublin, Ireland. After college, I have sung with both the Louisiana Philharmonic in New Orleans and more recently in the Houston Symphony Chorus. I have just earned my 50 concerts pin in the HSC, where I have sung everything from World Premieres, to Harry Potter in concert, to Video Games Live!
I would not have been able to do any of this if it weren’t for my middle school choir teacher. She taught me that I always have a place in the choir, whether in a symphony chorus, a community choir, or church choir. I want to follow in her footsteps by helping you each find your voice, through games and some really cool music! I can’t wait to meet you all and begin our adventure together.
