Hello, my name is Megan Thomas, and I am excited to be Humble High School's math instructional coach. As an instructional coach, I am committed to helping teachers grow and build their capacity, as well as, accomplish their professional goals. As an instructional coach, I will serve as a mentor and role model and stay abreast of the latest instructional strategies and technologies teachers can use in their classrooms. As a result, the classroom instruction students receive will improve and ultimately ensure that students always receive a high-quality education. My philosophy is all students can learn and have the right to a high-quality education that allows them to become life-long learners and discover their dreams and future goals, to be prepared for wherever life leads them. I am eager to support the HHS math teachers and all HHS students this school year.
I am a native Houstonian. I attended Dillard University, in New Orleans, La., but graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a degree in General Studies. I went on to earn my Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I have taught Algebra I, Strategic Math, Math Models and Algebraic Reasoning. This is my fourth year at Humble High School, but I have eleven years of educational experience with eight of those years as a math teacher.
