Martinez, Juan

Hello!  My name is Juan Martinez, and I am thrilled to say I will be starting my 9th year in education.

I grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston Downtown.  I began my teaching career at a Public Charter school and I have taught Spanish and Mathematics at the Middle and High School level. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family. After nine years, teaching continues to be a rewarding experience.

This year, I will be teaching 7th-grade Advanced Mathematics, 8th Math, and Math Strategies. In both courses, we will use Mathematics as a tool to understand and interpret our world and apply mathematics in our daily lives.  

We will incorporate technology in all of our lessons and will play an important role in our pursuit of being 21st-century learners.

I look forward to building transformative relationships with all of my students.
