About the Teacher
-
My name is Cassidy St. John. I have the honor of being your child's fifth grade Reading and English Language Arts teacher. I graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University through their Tech Teach program. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree through Johns Hopkins Univeristy and participating in Humble's Reading Academy. This is my nineth year in education. In the past, I have taught second grade as a self-contained instructor as well as third and fourth grade within the English Language Arts department. I have served on the curriculum writing committee for Language Arts, in my previous district. I am excited to focus my efforts towards helping this group of young people develop skills for meaningful writing and deep thinking.

What I'm Reading
(For Parents)
I personally prefer historical fiction. I also enjoy science and fantasy fiction.
I just finished reading Kristin Hannah's "The Nightingale." It was so good I finished it in three days. I could not put it down.
I am currently reading Janet Beard's "The Atomic City Girls." I'm still in the character development stages of the novel. I will update this page once I finish it.
I love to hear suggestions for new books. If anyone has a suggestion, please share!
