Welcome to the science lab! I am excited to be back at Groves Elementary for year three!
This will be my 19th year of teaching. In addition to Groves, I have taught in Aldine ISD, at the University of Houston Human Development Laboratory School, at Eagle Springs Elementary, and at the Center for Teaching and Learning. My experience spans preschool to eighth grade.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from University of Houston. I am currently working on a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education at University of Houston. (That's right! I'm an elementary teacher by day and statistics student by night... well, at Starbucks on the weekend anyway!)
I like to spend my time away from school with my family. My husband, Joshua, and I have three children. Ashlyn is eighteen and attends Lonestar College. Abriana is fifteen and is a sophomore at Atascocita High School. Harrison is thirteen and in eighth grade in the STEM Academy at Timberwood Middle School. We enjoy watching movies, going for walks, just hanging out together, and of course, watching Nebraska football. We have two dogs, Baby (who is actually the mama) and Latte. Latte is a therapy dog and loves to listen to kids read! I also enjoy singing on my church worship team and going on our yearly mission trip to Guatemala.
I am excited about this year, and I am looking forward to inspiring curiosity in your Groves Grizzly this year!
