Greetings!
I am so excited for the 2021-2022 school year here at THE Atascocita High School! This is my fifteenth year as a classroom teacher, most of which has been in the east Houston area. During my time as a teacher, I have taught grades 6-11 in the areas of Reading and English. My assignments have ranged from inclusion to Pre-AP. I was also the Dylexia Specialist and Reading Interventionist at my previous campus. This year I will be teaching English III.
I am a San Antonio native but I have lived in the Houston area for the last 8 years. I have a BA in both English and Political Science, as well as a minor in History. I received a Masters of Public Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated with my principal certification from Lamar University.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two young children. My teaching philosophy revolves around the idea of creating a responsible individual who utilizes critical thinking skills to pursue a future suited to their strengths. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your child reach their full potential this year. I look forward to communicating with you all throughout the year.
