    The district distributed a survey to parents and staff at Atascocita Springs, Eagle Springs and Lakeshore Elementary schools from January 26, 2017 to February 3, 2017.  1,068 people replied to the survey, in which they stated their preference for the new name for Elementary #28.  The Groves Elementary School was preferred by 61%; Forest Grove Elementary School was preferred by 27%, and Eagle Groves Elementary School was preferred by 12%.  Other suggested names were Guy M. Sconzo Elementary School and Pine Groves Elementary School

    On March 21, 2017, the Humble ISD School Board voted to name the school Groves Elementary School.
