    First Grade

    Welcome to 1st grade! I'm excited about being here beginning my sixth year at Groves Elementary. This will be my 17th year teaching. I have taught twelve years in first grade and four years in Pre-k. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Southwest Texas State University (Texas State). My passion is teaching children to be life-long readers and writers.

    I like to spend my time away from school with my extended family, husband Ryan, my three daughters as well as my three step-children. Yes, we have six children together, ranging from 6-18. They are all actively involved in many activities, including swimming, dance, cross country, track and field, orchestra, and baseball. I love animals and have a German Shepard named Bella and two cats, Pippa and Milo. I love yoga classes, spending time outdoors and enjoy traveling to new places.

    I'm so excited to be here and look forward to getting to know each of your children. Together we can change the world!
