The School Board hired Wyatt C. Hedrick as the architect for a new school building and renovations.1
In October 1963, the school board accepted preliminary plans for a new high school campus as submitted by Wyatt C. Hedrick firm.2
The school board authorized the Cities Services Company to draw up a deed for a 35 acre site to be purchased by the district in February 1964. The board also decided to use an electric air-conditioning system and a gas heating system in the new building.3
In May 1964, the construction contract was awarded to Thad Dederick Construction Company for $1,278,740.4
The school board voted to name the new high school building as Humble High School in October 1964.5
In March 1965, the school board awarded the contract to provide auditorium seating for the new school to Griggs Equipment Co.6 The contract for stage equipment was awarded to Houston Scenic Company for $4,575.7
Ten new sewing machines were purchased for the high school from the Singer Sewing Marchine Company for $1,556.8
The new high school building included a Board room for school board meetings.
