Atascocita Middle School
It was decided that the school design would be the same as used for Creekwood Middle School.
Clearing of the site for the school was started in January 1981. Construction should take approximately 16 months.
In February 1981, the name for the school was chosen as Atascocita Middle School.
The School Board approved the purchase of telephone equipment and service with Centel Business Systems in December 1982.
In April, 1983, the School Board approved the purchase of band jackets for $7,588. Furniure for the building was also purchased from American Desk ($8,378.90), Griggs International ($14,877.52), Gulf Coast Office Outfitters ($1,286), Hoover Brothers ($61,918.85), Indeco Sales Co ($110,226.89) and Mirco Manufacturing ($5,939.25)
The School Board performed a walk-through of the building on July 25,1983. They were concerned by the great amount of work remaining to be completed. A committee was put together to determine at what point the building would be accepted by the school district.
