River Pines Elementary School
In November 2004, Joiner Partnership, Inc. was approved to provide architectural services for the design and construction administration for the new elementary school. This new facility is a repeat of the design that has been used successfully at Jack Fields, Humble, Maplebrook, Summerwood, Eagle Springs and Park Lakes Elementary Schools.
The elementary school is located on approximately 14 acres of land in the Woodland Pines Development on the south side of Will Clayton Parkway just east of Wilson Road. The floor plan of this school is approximately 80,000 square feet. This floor plan is identical to Eagle Springs Elementary and Park Lakes Elementary Schools.
The school board also approved of Joiner Partnership's design development documents for the school in December 2005.
In April 2006, the construction contract was awarded to Brae Burn Construction Company of Houston, Texas for a projected amount of $9,984,100.
The name of the new school was established as River Pines Elementary School in December 2006.
In May 2007, the board approves payment of the Capital Recovery Impact Fee to Harris County Municipal District No. 278 in the total amount of $250,696.14 to provide utility service to the River Pines Elementary School.
