Construction
In August 1999, the School Board held a brief discussion of the possibility of using the acreage on Farmingham Road for the site of elementary #19.
The School Board approved the design development documents as prepared by architect Carl Joiner for Elementary #19 in January 2000.
In March 2000, the Construction contract was awarded to Purcell Construction for a base bid of $7,248,000.
The name Maplebrook Elementary School was considered in April 2001.
The Audio Visual Equipment bid was awarded to Aves, Long's Electronics and Troxell Comm. for $12,750.34 in June 2001.
In July 2001, The School Board awarded the contract for the playground structures to May Recreation Company for $20,835
The School Board accepted Maplebrook Elementary School as substantially complete in August 2001.
