Construction
The School Board approved the purchase of a 10 acre site in the Kings Point subdivision in Kingwood in February 1987.
MRW architects was awarded the contract in March 1987.
The construction contract was awarded to Gene D. Liggin Inv, with a base bid of $3,828,000 in May 1987.
In January 1988, the School Board naming committee (McCarthy, Shyrock and Panzarella) submitted names for the new school, including Kings Creek, Sandy Point, Willow Creek, Willow Point, Forest Point and Oakwood. The school name was selected as Willow Creek Elementary.
The School Board accepted the building as substantially complete on August 10, 1988.
The size of the school is 72,334 square feet. The total site acreage is 11.45 acres.
