    Dr. J. Alford Moore founded the Eastex Veterinary Clinic in 1970.  He is a graduate of Texas A & M University.  Dr. J. Alford Moore holds the distinction on serving on the Humble ISD School Board longer than any individual. 

    He served on the board two different times.  The first time he was elected on October 8, 1974 to Position 6, and served continuously for 27 1/2 years until May 4, 2002.   
     
    The second time he was appointed to complete the unexpired term of Board Member Bob Strader in Position 6, from December 9, 2003 until May 15, 2004, for a total of 28 years of service to Humble ISD.

    He has been active in the Texas Veterinary Medicine Association, having been chairman of TVMA's Historical Committee and co-chairman of TVMA's Centennial Task Force. He has also served as President of the Humble Rotary Club 1975-1976, President of the Humble Museum Bicentennial Society.

    Dr. Moore was named "Citizen of the Year" for 1983 by the Humble Area Chamber of Commerce.
