    Edward Elbert Bagwell

    E. E. Bagwell


    Edward Elbert Bagwell was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 17, 1871. He was the son of Sidney Bagwell.  

    He was first married to Mabel Olive Kelly (1882-1928).  They had a daughter Catherine Bawell (1903-1936).

    He later married Buda Parker in 1931 (she was born in 1890).


    He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina.

    He was superintendent of the Davis Schools in Davis, Oklahoma in the early 1900s.

    In 1910, he was working as a teacher at a Baptist Academy in Hays County, Texas.

    Mr. Bagwell became Superintendent of Humble iSD in May 1919. He resigned in 1924 to accept a position as the Superintendent of the public schools in Yorktown, Texas.

    In 1940, he was working as a Newspaper Salesman at the ATlas School Store, in San Antonio.  He sold the business due to his failing health.


    Edward E. Bagwell died on September 10, 1947 in San Antonio.  He is buried in the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, Oklahoma.
