    David Robert Hibbetts

    David Hibbetts


    David Robert Hibbetts was born in Franklin, Texas on May 10, 1877. He was the son of William Henry Hibbetts and Mary Ann Hollis.  

    He was married to Minnie Margaret Harevy (1886-1965).

    The Hibbetts had five children: (1) William Harvey Hibbetts (1909-2002), (2) Robert James Hibbetts (1912-2002), Marjorie Annette Hibbetts (1915), Charles Benjamin Hibbetts (1916-1971) and (5) Janie Beth Hibbetts.


    He earned his Bachelors degree from Valparaiso University, and his Masters degree from the University of Texas.

    He taught in the Bay City Independent School District during the 1917-1918 school-year.

    He served as Interim Superintendent for Humble ISD during the 1924-1925 school year, but was not hired as the permanent position for the following year.  During his one year as Humble ISD Superintendent, he also taught German at Humble High School.

    In 1930, the census has him listed as a Life Insurance Salesman.

    In 1940, he is listed as a teacher in the public schools of Austin.

    By 1942, he was working as a farmer in Normangee, Texas.


    Mr. Hibbetts died on May 19, 1969.  He is buried in the Rock Prairie Cemtery in Madison County, Texas.
