    Earl Kilbe Barden

    Earl Kilbe Barden was born on January 20, 1883 in Indiana. He was the son of J. R. Barden and Francis Latamore.  

    He was married to Alice Ray Jones.  

    The Bardens had two children: (1) John E. Barden, born in 1912, and (2) Charles R. Barden, born in 1917.


    He had previously been Superintendent of the public schools in Dayton, Texas, as early as 1918.

    Mr. Barden became Superintendent of Humble ISD in May 1925, and served in that position for 6 years. He resigned in 1930 to accept a position as Superintendent of the Sugar Land School District.

    In 1928, Mr. Barden served as President of the Southern Association of Teachers.


    Earl Kilbe Barden died on July 24, 1950 in Sugar Land, Texas.  He is buried in Forest Park Cemetery.
