    All parents and students are invited to attend our "Community Connections" information seminars aimed at enhancing one's knowledge and awareness of key issues related to advanced academics and post-secondary preparation. We hope that you'll be able to join us!

    GT: "Should I Refer?" - September 11, 2018 - 1-2 pm & September 13, 2018 - 6 pm (Eggers Instructional Support Center) 

    • Learn more about the characteristics of gifted children and the Humble ISD identification process. This session is ideal for parents/guardians of students in grades K-11.  

    Advanced Academics: "Rigorous Coursework: Pre-AP/AP/DC or IB?" - November 8, 2018 - 6 pm (Eggers Instructional Support Center)

    • Which course should my child take? Explore multiple course opportunities available for your child. Learn how taking rigorous courses can prepare your child for college and beyond. This session is ideal for parents/guardians of students in grades 5-11.

    Advanced Academics: "How Are You Going to Pay for College?" - December 13, 2018 - 6 pm (Eggers Instructional Support Center)

    • Learn about financial aid secrets most colleges and universities don't want you to know, as well as financial planning strategies that may be used to defray the out-of-pocket costs of college. This session is ideal for parents/guardians of students in grades 5-11.

    Advanced Academics: "College Entrance Exams - ACT or SAT - Which Should I Take?!" - January 31, 2019 - 6 pm (Eggers Instructional Support Center)

    • Learn more about the various college entrance exams, preparation resources, and interpreting exam results. This session is ideal for parents/guardians of students in grades 8-12.

    Advanced Academics: "Schools Out - Now What!?" - February 21, 2019 - 6 pm (Eggers Instructional Support Center) 

    • Learn about the various academic enrichment opportunities available during the summer months for the highly motivated student. This session is ideal for parents/guardians of students in grades 3-11.
