Christian Gilmore, 2018 State Champion in the 6A 800 Meter Run, was recognized at the June Board of Trustees meeting.

Transportation Department recognized at the June Board meeting
For the fourth consecutive year, Humble ISD Transportation has been recognized among the Top 100 Fleets in the Americas. They ranked number 14 out of 38,000 eligible government fleets including cities, counties, states, and school districts.

The Atascocita High School girls softball team wins the Class 6A Softball State Championship.

ShowBiz Cinemas honored for sponsoring WMS Kickstart Kids
Kevin Mitchell, CEO of ShowBiz Cinemas and Derrick Stenson, Kickstart Kids Regional Manager were recognized by Woodcreek Middle School for their donation and sponsorship of the Woodcreek Middle Kickstart Kids program at the June School Board meeting.

New Location (KPHS): San Jacinto River Watershed Community Meeting
Council Member Dave Martin would like to make Lake Houston residents aware that the San Jacinto River Watershed Community Meeting has been moved from the Kingwood Community Center to Kingwood Park High School to accommodate a larger crowd. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital donates CPR training kits to KHS
Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital recently donated two CPR in Schools Training Kits to Kingwood High School. After learning that the campus had lost their CPR training kits in Hurricane Harvey flooding, the hospital wanted to help. The donation is an extension of the Memorial Hermann Northeast sponsorship of the 2018 Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk.

Melissa Crizer, Humble ISD Energy Manager, will serve as President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of Texas Energy Managers Association (TEMA). Crizer will begin her term as TEMA President in January.

Randalls Kingwood Store Celebrates its Grand Re-Opening and Donates $100,000 to Humble ISD Education Foundation
On Wednesday, November 15, Randalls will re-open its Kingwood location, after Hurricane Harvey flood waters damaged the store. As part of the celebration, Randalls will make a donation to Humble ISD Education Foundation to assist with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Humble High School Wildcat Salute to Veterans
For 14 years, the Humble High School Veterans Day Salute has commemorated military Veterans for their service and sacrifice. On display is a replication of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which serves as a memorial to service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and remain unknown.

Best Wishes to Jayce Percival as he competes in Bulgaria 2017 World Championships
Jayce Percival, 12, is a seventh grader who attends Woodcreek Middle School. USA Gymnastics recently announced the U.S. Trampoline and Tumbling Team for the 2017 World Age Group Competition, which will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria Nov. 16-19, 2017.

Humble ISD hosted a signing day event on November 8 to recognize 30 athletes who signed letters of intent to participate in college athletics. The event was held at the historic Charles Bender Performing Arts Center in downtown Humble.
