    Summer reading

The purpose of summer reading in AP US history is to bridge the gap from World History and to preview Units 1 and 2. Students will be accountable for Chapters 1-3 from the textbook America: The Essential Learning Edition and Chapters 1-3 in Portrait of America within the first two weeks of school.

What do I need to do?

***You can complete the following without your textbook as I have PDFed the chapters***

Read Portrait of America Chapters 1-3 and answer the questions at the end of each chapter. These are PDFed and located under summer reading.

*** Use your textbook, America: The Essential Learning Edition, for the following***

Download and print the study guides for America: The Essential Learning Edition chapters 1-3. You will use them to help focus on the most important content from each chapter. Unit guides are found under the  "APUSH 9 Units" tab.

Study guide for Unit 1 covers chapter 1 in America, and Unit 2 covers chapters 2 and 3 in America. When you receive the textbook for the year you will read America: The Essential Learning Edition Chapters 1-3 and take notes based on the study guides.
