My name is Julie Jennings. I am proud to be at Woodland Hills! This is my eigth year teaching in Humble ISD. This is my 23rd year teaching and I am just as excited as I was my first year! I grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have a specialization in teaching reading and hold my ESL, Dyslexia and GT certifications.
I began my teaching career in Plano ISD, where I worked for six years before moving to my neighborhood school in Wylie ISD. After 9 years in Wylie teaching Kindergarten and working as a ESL K-2 reading specialist, our family made a move to the Houston area in the summer of 2014. I have spent six years teaching Kindergarten and being an ELT at Lakeshore Elementary, before joining the Woodland hills family last year.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Bryan for 20 years. We have three amazing kids. My son John will be starting his senior year at Infinity Early College High School and my daughter Alyssa will be in 8th grade at Creek wood Middle and last but not least, our third child Luke is 8 and in 3rd grade. We have 2 golden retrieves named Lily and Piper. We are huge soccer fans! I enjoy watching my kids in various activities. My other hobbies include reading, craft projects, and family road trips.
I am excited about this school year and about getting to know each of you as well. I promise to not only stretch your child as far as they are academically ready to go, but to love, and nurture them while they are in my care.
