Why does my child's school have an Annual Fund campaign?
A growing trend in Humble ISD is fundraising through campus based Annual Fund campaigns. Annual Fund campaigns are a joint effort between the campus and the Education Foundation, designed to provide external sources of funding for items that are not covered through the school’s budget. Several campuses have transitioned to this model of fundraising in lieu of third-party efforts. Parents have strongly voiced their appreciation for the opportunity to support their child’s school without having to sell items such as cookie dough or gift wrap.
We have loved our children's schools----for reasons both personal and educational. Our kids are better learners, and better people, because they've been Gators and Colts. Giving to each school's respective Annual Fund allows us to invest directly in, and show our appreciation for, the quality learning environments that have so enriched our kids' lives. Making a donation to these annual fund campaigns was the easiest decision ever.

How will my child benefit from Annual Fund campaign dollars?
Funding initiatives vary by campus but often include impact areas such as campus or technology enhancements, teacher training and classroom materials to increase instructional rigor and relevance. When you donate to a campus based Annual Fund campaign, 100% of your gift supports the school’s initiatives and funding priorities.
Providing our children's school with resources that go directly to teachers to support professional development and other directly related items that are utilized within the classroom is what makes the annual fund so appealing to our family. It has greatly impacted students directly with their classroom experience!

Why is the Humble ISD Education Foundation involved?
The Humble ISD Education Foundation serves as a development office for the district at large and is a 501(c)(3) organization, which offers applicable tax benefits that may not be available when donating directly through the school district. The Foundation processes gifts, manages funds, tracks contributions and works to ensure that gifts are used as designated by the donor. In addition, the Foundation is set up to accept credit/debit cards, which helps make giving easier and allows for recurring contributions. Many companies will only match gifts to 501(c)(3) organizations. Therefore, making donations through the Education Foundation will allow your gift to receive the maximum match potential from corporations.
As the Chairman of the Humble ISD Education Foundation Board, I believe this type of fundraising benefits our schools, our donors, and most importantly our students. During the 2014-2015 school year, more than $400,000 was raised in Annual Fund Campaigns on Humble ISD campuses.
