• B.S. in Education    M. Ed. in Education Administration Meet Ms. Hurley
Hello! I'm Jessica Hurley, 4th grade Virtual Teacher at Maplebrook!
I began my teaching career in Killeen, Texas in 2001. After working in other districts for several years, I was lucky to be offered a position here in Humble ISD in 2013. I am proud to say that this year will mark my 6th year at Maplebrook and my 20th year of teaching!
While most of my experience in teaching has been 2nd and 4th grade, I have also taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, 6th grade Reading & Math, and 7th grade Texas History.
I am a graduate of Tarleton State University-Class of 2001. There, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. My certificates include Elementary 1-8, History 1-8, and ESL 1-8. Many years after that, I went back into graduate school and earned my Masters degree from Lamar University in 2011. I have a Masters degree in Educational Administration and now hold my Principal Certification.
My oldest daughter Delaney, an Atascocita High School graduate, is attending Calhoun Community College in Huntsville, Alabama. My younger daughter Ryan is a Junior at Atascocita High School. She is an Athletic Trainer for the AHS Football team and Baseball team.
I enjoy reading any chance I can get, and I love inspiring young readers to be avid readers as well.
I am excited about teaching and getting to know all of my new 4th graders this year at Maplebrook!
