2017 Film Invitational Competition
Members of Ann Wehrman & Jeff Mack’s advanced classes have been selected to participate in the All American High School Film Invitational. Our team will be provided with Apple laptops to use during pre-production from August thru October. In addition, Apple will also be setting up a state-of-the-art editing lab with iMacs available for teams to use during the competition at the Millennium Broadway Hotel HQ.
The Complete F.I. Experience provides student filmmakers the opportunity to become a truly independent film crew. Over the course of the 10-week pre-production period participating teams will be responsible for every aspect of creating a short narrative film: ideation, script writing, location scouting, casting, shoot schedules and more. This preparation is designed to put teams in the best possible position to successfully shoot and edit their film in New York City over the course of 3 days.
In 2016, AAHSFF partnered with AT&T to provide an incredible F.I. experience. 27 teams, representing 12 different states, competed for over $50,000 in cash prizes and development deals and the chance to have their film screened at high schools all over the country. More importantly, the teams were tasked with creating films on the topic of cyberbullying-- films that can and will make a real difference in our society.
*Partners and Themes for the 2017 Complete F.I. Experience will be announced soon!!!

Bots, Fights, and Dinosaurs - SXSW entry
"Bots, Fights, and Dinosaurs", follows a story of what happens when two cliffbots kidnap a young dinosaur and place two unlikely monsters against one another. When Lord Cliffbot announces that The Big One is finally complete, he makes the analogy that The Big One has to be "stronger than the world's largest dinosaur". This metaphor is taken seriously by two not-so-bright Cliffbots who then time travel back in time to retrieve a T-Rex (one of the worlds largest beasts to ever roam the earth) so The Big One's strength may be displayed. This then leads us to the fight between the T-Rex and "The Big One".2D animation created in Adobe After Effects by Alexis Banda3D Animation created in Blender by:Danny EspinosaAlexis BandaAustin TurnerBrennan Koretzky -
