IB Course Information

  • 11th and 12th grade students at HHS may enroll in International Baccalaureate courses even though they are not able or not interested in earning the full IB Diploma. The IB Course student (formerly known as “certificate” student) is able to earn course credit and sit for IB examinations in individual subjects of strength.

The IB Course option is ideal for students who want a challenging academic experience, but also wish to devote a great deal of time to a job, athletics, music, or other interests.

With the exception ESS and History SL, all IB courses are 2 years in length and require a commitment to be in the course for both the 11th and 12th grade years. This also means that a student is only allowed to enroll in the course prior to starting their 11th grade year.

Course students may choose up to 4 IB courses.

There is a short application associated with enrolling in an IB course. Applications are due by April 20th.
