Mrs. Penny Juergen

I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at Texas A&M University. This is my 12th  year of teaching and my 12th  year at Greentree . I am proud to be a Greentree Gator! I feel so blessed to be able to teach at Greentree Elementary where every teacher is here because of a passion for teaching.

I believe that every child is different and has a personality all their own. I also believe that each child needs a safe, secure, and inspiring place to learn, grow, and discover in order to become different and unique individuals. I strive to ensure that each child is able to reach their fullest potential in as many aspects of their lives as possible by providing an environment that is safe, secure, and inspiring for everyone. I believe that each child has dreams in their lives, and it is my job, as a teacher, to help make their dreams real.

I consider my classroom to be a safe, secure, and inspiring place for children to learn, grow, and discover each day. The children have many opportunities to be leaders in the classroom, and are encouraged to express their feelings through writings or discussions. I work to teach students the importance of patience and understanding that each person is different, and that differences make people special and unique. I encourage positive behavior by stressing the importance of rules and rewards and consequences.

I feel that teaching is a very important job because as a teacher, I have the chance to shape the minds of children, but more importantly to teach them how to use their minds. I hope your child will find joy in learning, and will also find a sense of fulfillment from their new knowledge. I want children to see that learning can be fun.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Wes.  We met while in school at Texas A&M. Wes is a construction superintendent for Austin Industries.  He is a pretty handy guy to have around! We have a 7-year-old daughter named Kate and a three-year-old son named Barrett. Both are such blessings to our family and bring us lots of joy! We also have a Basset Hound named Bailey and we love her very much. Wes and I love football season and are season ticket holders for Texas A&M Football!  Whoop!!
