All About Me
My name is Christina Blackshear. I grew up in Kingwood and attended Kingwood Middle school and Kingwood High School. My father was transferred to Indonesia during my senior year, so off I went to the other side of the world. I graduated from Jakarta International High School, and I feel so fortunate to have had that amazing experience.
I graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998. I taught second grade for three years in the Keller Independent School District. I moved back to Kingwood in 2000, and have been teaching third grade ever since.
I’m a proud mama of two kiddos. My son Dean is 15 and my daughter Emily is 11. Dean enjoys playing football, golf, and robotics. Emily enjoys singing, art, and riding horses.
I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to work with children every day and facilitate their learning. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s education!
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
