All About Me

My name is Christina Blackshear. I grew up in Kingwood and attended Kingwood Middle school and Kingwood High School. My father was transferred to Indonesia during my senior year, so off I went to the other side of the world. I graduated from Jakarta International High School, and I feel so fortunate to have had that amazing experience.

I graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998. I taught second grade for three years in the Keller Independent School District. I moved back to Kingwood in 2001 and have taught in the Humble Independent School District for 21 years.

I’m a proud mama of two kiddos. My son Dean is 19 and my daughter Emily is 15. Dean graduated from Kingwood High School and is currently attending Universal Technical Institute to become a certified mechanic with a specialty in diesel mechanics. Emily enjoys singing, art, and riding horses. She is a sophomore at Kingwood High School and is a member of the select mixed ensemble called The Madrigals.

I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to work with children every day and facilitate their learning. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s education!

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
